Dubai International Airport Receives Aerodrome License

Dubai International Airport (DIA was awarded the Aerodrome License by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).  The Aerodrome Interim License Extension Program was designed to enhance and strengthen operational standards and safety at UAE’s international airports.  Director General of GCAA said DIA complied with regulations and demonstrated total commitment to increasing “the performance of its aviation operation facilities, equipment, training systems, procedures, and manuals.”

The strong growth of local airlines and increasing flow of investment and tourism from around the world have transformed UAE airports from local airfields to tier one, top ranked aviation hubs.  This has created a need for aviation professional to update their aviation systems and strengthen their safety programs. GCAA has consistently led development of regional aviation through training, consistent auditing, and monitoring of aerodrome’s operators.
