Tallest Swarovski Christmas Tree in Hong Kong

In celebration of the festive season, Swarovski - the world's leading brand of cut crystal with over 115 years of traditions - presents the Crystal Christmas Tree at Statue Square in Central, Hong Kong in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) for Hong Kong WinterFest to be held from 29th November 2010 to 2nd January 2011. With this scintillating Christmas tree, Swarovski brings an enchanted world of glittering decorations, magical crystals and sparkling dreams to the heart of Hong Kong for the public and tourists alike to savour the poetry of Christmas as interpreted by Swarovski. This Christmas tree will become the major highlight of the Hong Kong WinterFest, the HKTB's winter promotion targeting tourists from around the world.

"Christmas is a joyful festival which Swarovski treasures very much. We wish to bring an enchanted world of glittering decorations to the local residents and tourists alike in this special Christmas season. Also, special thanks to Hong Kong Tourism Board for providing such a perfect location for Swarovski to create the first outdoor Crystal Christmas Tree in the heart of Hong Kong, Central!" said Ms. Allison Pyrah, Vice President Operations of Swarovski Consumer Goods Business, Greater China.

Inspired by urban effervescence, and a landscape dominated by skyscrapers and buildings with a seemingly endless number of windows, the Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree towers over 30 metres high. Rhombus-shaped mirrors in silver and gold, reminiscent of window panes, sheath the tree.  They are embellished with over 20 million pieces of Swarovski crystals from Austria that glint in the sunlight.

At night, the Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree dazzles by means of the interactive lights from over 200 pieces of Swarovski Annual Edition 2010 Christmas ornaments.  They come alive in a kaleidoscope of magical movements that pulsate along with the music from the water fountain and light show held every 30 minutes daily from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm after the unveiling of the Swarovski Crystal Christmas Tree. This stunning spectacle brings a vibrancy and effervescence to the night vista of Central, transforming it into a winter wonderland of golden splendour.

It is a tradition for Swarovski to have crystal Christmas Trees located in the world's greatest cities every year to bring festive cheer to people around the world. This year, Swarovski is proud to present the Crystal Christmas Tree in the Central Business District of Hong Kong and bring to us the magic touch of the boundless beauty of crystals.
