Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince, opened the new Dubai Cruise Terminal yesterday. The new terminal was developed and will be operated by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, (DTCM). The naming ceremony for the new cruise ship Costa Deliziosa was a highlight of the opening of the new terminal in Port Rashid.
Four ships can be accommodated at once at the new terminal which has a money exchange, ATM’s, post office, duty free shop, souvenir shops, business center with free internet access, WiFi, and VIP majilis. The new terminal also houses offices for representatives of government bodies like customs, immigration, and police. DTCM Director-General Khalid Al bin Sulayem said “The opening of this state-of-the-art facility is a major milestone in our tourism journey. Cruise tourism plays a crucial role in the overall growth and development of the tourism industry in the emirate.”
