SITA Installs Self Service Kiosks At Abu Dhabi Airport

SITA, a specialist in air transport and communications and IT solutions, is installing self service kiosks at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.  The five year, $2.2 million deal with SITA is aimed at simplifying the check-in procedures by installing SITA’s (common use self-service) kiosks.  Twenty four kiosks will be installed throughout Abu Dhabi International Airport’s three terminals.   They will be operational by September and make it possible for ADAC to increase capacity during peak times, avoiding the need for fixed check in areas.

VP for Information and Communication Systems for ADAC said “By providing common-use kiosks we can accommodate the extra flow of travelers during peak hours and for special events.  Michael J. Ibbitson said the CUSS kiosks will deliver quicker and more convenient check in.    Passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport is growing quickly – up 30.2% in 2008 to 9.02 million compared to 6.9 million in 2007.
