Turkish Airlines Sponsors Golf Pro Maria Verchenova During the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters

Dubai, UAE; Turkish Airlines is the proud sponsor and preferred airliner carrier for golf pro Maria Verchenova during the Omega Ladies Masters, taking place in Dubai from the 6th until the 11th of December 2010 at the Emirates Golf Club. The Omega Dubai Ladies Masters is the first full Ladies European Tour (LET) event ever to be played in the Middle East. Since making its debut in the region in 2006, the event, promoted and organized by 'golf in DUBAI,' has become a permanent feature on the UAE golfing calendar.

Maria Verchenova, who is ranked number one in Russia, is also the first Russian to receive a full-time membership on the Ladies European Tour and has secured several top ten finishes during her career. When asked about her affiliation with Turkish Airlines she stated, "I am delighted to have Turkish Airlines as a partner for this week's Omega Dubai Ladies Masters; this is one of my favorite events on the Ladies European Tour. My flight with Turkish Airlines from Germany to Dubai was very pleasant; their friendly and accommodating staff creates an impressive experience regardless of the distance and destination traveled".

Turkish Airlines have secured a noteworthy reputation as one of the foremost airline carriers due to their outstanding customer service and hospitality. 2010 has witnessed a colossal move by Turkish Airlines into the sports arena sponsorship by becoming the official airline carriers and sponsors for FC Barcelona and Manchester United. The airline's venture into golf and partnership with Maria Verchenova adds a new jewel in their impressive crown of sporting endorsements.

"We are honored to have Ms. Verchenova join our prevailing rapport of sporting professionals. Turkish Airlines takes great pride in belonging and contributing to the world of sports and we look forward to branching out further into the sports arena and structuring our portfolio of professional athletes," said Ayse Misirli Mirza, Director for Dubai & Sri Lanka, Turkish Airlines.
