Jet announces Mumbai Muscat flight

Muscat: Jet Airways is planning to introduce no-frills Jet-Lite operations in the GCC sector, according to Abraham Joseph, the private Indian airline's senior general manager for Gulf, Middle East and North Africa."We are in final negotiations with the respective GCC governments to operate Jet-Lite," he said while stressing that Jet-Lite will not be a low fare airline. "It will be something in-between," he said.Joseph was addressing a news conference here on Monday evening to announce Jet Airways' daily direct flights from Muscat to Mumbai, the third destination from Oman by the airline. The carrier started its operations to Muscat in January with daily flights from Kochi and Kozhikode in Kerala. The Mumbai-Muscat flight 9W540 will leave Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 10.30pm local time and reach Muscat at 11.59pm local time. On the return leg, flight 9W539 will depart from Muscat at 1am local time and reach Mumbai at 5.05am local time. The off-peak season economy class fares on the Muscat-Mumbai sector will be 40 Omani riyals (plus 22.8 riyals tax) for one-way and 80 riyals (plus 42.8 tax) for return while the peak season fares will be 50 riyals (plus tax) and 90 riyals (plus tax) respectively.
