Air India Unable To Make New Bookings

Local Air India offices have stopped making new bookings because the airlines closed flights until October 15 due to the pilots strike.   A major travel agency executives said “Even if we want, we cannot make new bookings as the flights are closed on the system.”  There were no incoming or outgoing flights from the Kingdom on Air India and passengers have been referred to other international carriers.

Confusion reigned among travellers who had used Air India to fly to different destinations over the summer break and must return within a few weeks. The travel agent said there are some passengers whose re-entry visa is about to expire.   Another travel agent explained there is concern about the special Haj flights because Air India must transport most of the pilgrims.  Three aiports in Kerala were badly hit as dozens of flights, including domestic services were cancelled.
