Dubai Metro is the world’s largest driverless, fully automated metro in the world. Dubai Metro was launched on September 2009 and is packed in peak rush hours and weekends. There are 47 stations, 10 of which are underground. Currently, only the Red Line is fully operational and other lines will be functional around 2010-2011. The rechargable Nol Card is an integrated card system which enables commuters to travel by train, bus or water transport as well as use the parking places without the hassle of cash.One-way and round-trip day tickets can also be purchased.The cost of a one way ticket from Rashidya Station to Nakheel Harbor is AED 4.10. The Metro is divided into separate classes, the Gold and Silver Class being the most expensive. There are separate cars for women and children as well.
The Metro is operational from 6:00 AM- 11:00 PM on weekdays (Sunday-Thursday) and 6:00AM- 12:00AM on weekends (Friday -Saturday)
