Image There are still some minefields left over from past wars in the Western Desert(numerously found near the North Coast) and near the off-roads of Sinai. Minefields are very dangerous and fatal, so be careful if you are planning on visiting either of these places. It is suggested that you speak to local authorities about mines before voyaging out. Also, be aware that minefields are usually marked with barbed wire, yet they do not have sign posts indicating mines are prevalent.
